The second Naruto Shippuuden movie is scheduled for theatrical release in Japan on August 2nd, 2008. The movie will be directed by Kamegaki Hajime and the main theme song is called "NO RAIN NO RAINBOW" by Home Made Kazoku.
What is the plot of this movie?
Konoha is attacked by a group of ninja called Sora from Sky Country. They are seeking revenge for nearly being wiped out by Konoha during the Great Ninja War. At the same time, Naruto, Sakura and Hinata are sent to help a girl named Amaru and her sensei to help her village. They find the villgae deserted and encounter a creature called the Zero Tails, a being which devours human souls. Meanwhile, Sasuke has been sent by Orochimaru to the same village to search out a person which can help him perfect his reincarnation jutsu. Sasuke encounters Naruto and together they are forced to fight Zero Tails.
Who will appear in this movie?
The main characters will of course be Naruto and Sasuke. From the promotional trailers, it appears that Naruto's team will consist of for certain: Sakura and Hinata (cheers!); Kakashi, Shikamaru and Sai also make prominent appearances in the trailer.
When does this movie take place within the Naruto storyline?
This movie will feature Sasuke's second appearance in front of Naruto after he went over to Orochimaru's side. At this time, Sasuke is still training under Orochimaru and has not formed Team Hebi yet. Therefore, Naruto Shippuuden Movie 2 likely occurs between manga volumes 35 and 38.
When is this movie coming to North America?
If the delay for previous Naruto movies are any indication, at least a year before it is available in North American theatres.
